Yoga in Aruba (2).jpg

Jude Evans is a Yoga Teacher and Creative, Movement & Well-being Practitioner based in the West Midlands, and working around the UK. She works in both the field of mind-body practice and the arts - writing, theatre and dance. Her ultimate goal through all her work is for students to create their own medicine through the tools, approaches and interests they gather throughout their lives - including, but not exclusively, yoga. Jude teaches a range of yoga forms to beginners through to intermediate level, in public and private settings, including Restorative, Yin, Chair Yoga, Hatha, Yin-Yang, Gentle or Slow Flow, and Vinyasa Flow. Her students are of many ages and from diverse backgrounds, some of whom include those with mental health struggles, seniors, university staff and students, athletes and dancers.

She is currently training with YogaStream for 500hr Yoga Teacher Training with Lara Heimann (Physical Therapist and E-RYT 500hr) and with Yoga Medicine for 500hr Yoga Teacher Training with Tiffany Cruikshank. Her varied roles include: yoga teacher (RYT 200hr), movement practitioner, writer, movement director, choreographer, workshop leader, dance teacher, performer, deviser. She found yoga, and more recently meditation, whilst coping with the terminal illness and subsequent death of her mother - yoga gave a lifeline. Her practice and teaching draws on this mixed background, providing tools for self-healing, encouraging body awareness and understanding (holistic and somatic), offering creative and scientific sequencing, incorporating a range of approaches from Rudolf Laban, Irmgard Bartenieff, Jacques Lecoq, and many others - with a dash of literary goodness thrown in! Jude is a continual student of movement and all that it offers, believing that finding presence, communication and connection through our bodies, in stillness and in motion, is one of the greatest things in our world.

Jude's study and training includes Yoga Teacher Training 200hr (Frog Lotus Yoga International), PgDip in Shakespeare & Theatre (Uni of B'ham), BA (Hons) English Literature (Lancaster Uni), and StoneCrabs Theatre's Young Directors Programme. She also completed BTDA and RAD grades in a variety of dance forms, achieving Grade 8 Distinction in ballet, and has participated in movement and yoga courses and workshops all over the world. She practices and espouses movement and mindfulness every day at home, in classes and in the rehearsal room. She regularly writes for publications and her own blog, The Red Room. Jude documents her journey through work and life as @movewithjude on Instagram. #createyourownmedicine
